Remote Packaging Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Packaging Engineer to join our team, contributing to both global and local project teams as a core member within the value chain team. The role requires a professional adept at providing regular updates to senior leaders, partners, and sponsors through comprehensive reports, presentations, and ad-hoc communications. The Packaging Engineer will manage all technical outputs for file submission and launch readiness, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards. This position includes post-launch support to ensure manufacturing stabilization and fluent transfer of ownership.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Drug Delivery System development team to optimize the design of primary containers for commercial assembly, packaging, and distribution.Work with the MSAT Packaging Center of Excellence team to design, implement, and validate commercial secondary and tertiary packaging components, focusing on sustainability and patient requirements.Search for optimal off-the-shelf and custom-designed secondary packaging materials solutions with internal partners and suppliers.Drive development, implementation, and validation of packaging processes at commercial scale, adhering to standard procedures.Partner with Project Engineers to ensure accurate design, testing, installation, and qualification of equipment.Deliver robust tech transfer documentation sets in line with packaging design transfer procedures, including design transfer plans, control strategy, FMEA, equipment qualification, process validation, distribution testing, and summary reports.Consolidate budget plans for New Product Introduction (NPI), aligning with strategic objectives and financial targets.Essential Skills
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science; advanced degree preferred.Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical development or manufacturing.Experience in leading large and complex projects from initiation to completion with a multifunctional team in a global context.Proven experience in Packaging Operations, Engineering, Project Leadership, and/or R&D.Demonstrated experience in Technical Launch Management, Product Technical Transfer, New Product Introduction, and/or New Product Launch.Strong communication skills and authentic personal leadership style.Experience in Change Control, Risk Management, Qualification, and Validation.Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent applications.Experience in synthetic pharmaceutical development or pharmaceutical manufacturing.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proven leadership in stakeholder management, engaging with diverse stakeholders and senior leaders.Ability to operate with minimal guidance, planning and executing projects effectively.Experience in project leadership, packaging operations, and risk management.Work Environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New Brunswick, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
