Regulatory Reporting Analyst
Job Title: Analyst, Regulatory Reporting

Job Description

The Regulatory Reporting Analyst will provide support and maintenance of data reporting needs to the Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance department. This position will manage the creation and submission of data reports pertaining to regulatory mandates. The candidate will develop accurate and innovative data trending techniques that are easily communicated to both internal department colleagues as well as neighboring impacted departments.

Responsibilities

Interface with IT, Actuarial, Underwriting, Finance, and Customer Service, along with outside vendors and rating organizations or bureaus to extract, analyze, and report data to insurance departments and Workers’ Compensation rating bureaus.Spearhead effective data collection by representing analysis data users on new products, systems, and updates to data processes.Manage the research and creation of unit statistical reports monthly for the Workers' Compensation book of business.Maintain accurate documentation of all work suitable for compliance audits, informing management of limitations, data constraints, and potential events.Validate entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, and reentering as needed.Oversee the aggregation of data not currently systematically aggregated.Assist with data reporting trends and escalate anomalies to the Director of the Regulatory Reporting Unit.Act as the point of contact for MGA’s reporting Final/Revised Audits.Participate in corporate data initiatives and stay updated on technological resources, tools, and third-party vendors for data mining and statistical analysis.Facilitate weekly conference calls to discuss data filings and remediate reporting errors.Manage Workers’ Comp criticism response process.Analyze causes of fines/penalties for late and non-compliant reporting issues.Maintain a central repository listing of data calls and surcharge reports, detailing due dates, jurisdiction, and submission methods.Maintain a central repository of fines and penalties related to the Regulatory Reporting Unit, processing check requests as needed.Handle ad hoc data calls, financial/surcharge assessments, and general statistical surveys from State Insurance Departments.Work with IT, Customer Service, and other departments to improve or automate data reporting processes where possible.Handle other related projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

Minimum 5-10 years of insurance data analysis and/or regulatory reporting experience.Bachelor’s Degree desired.Broad-based global insurance industry experience.Subject matter expertise with the ability to work independently with little guidance.Extensive experience with large data sets and data model design.Strong process, systems, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.Strong execution and results orientation with the ability to develop a high-performance organization.Strong communication skills (oral and written) and demonstrated ability to work across interdisciplinary teams that are geographically dispersed.Ability to identify issues and work to resolve them in partnership with business leaders.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment with three days in the office, with Wednesday being mandatory. The other two days can be chosen. Work hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, but there is flexibility to start earlier or later if needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
