Regulatory Governance Office Leader

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal, Risk and Compliance team at Marsh. This is a Melbourne or Sydney based role. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Regulatory Governance Office Leader

The Regulatory Governance Office (RGO) is responsible for supporting and advising on regulatory compliance obligations and processes across the MMC pacific businesses in relation to regulated role holders under the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), CPS 511 Remuneration, SPS 520 Fit and Proper, and RG 105 Organisational Competence (AFSL).

The RGO Leader is responsible for leading the RGO function, establishing and leading a high-performing regulatory governance team and has overall accountability for ensuring that MMC pacific meets the intent of all applicable regulatory requirements for Accountable Persons (APs) under FAR, Specified role holders under CPS 511, Responsible Managers (RMs) under RG 105 and Responsible Persons (RPs) under SPS 510

We will count on you to:

Lead and drive the establishment of the RGO, ensuring the development of clear roles, responsibilities, and governance structures, and setting up the necessary processes and systems to effectively manage and oversee compliance with requirements for the regulated role holders under RG 105, CPS 511, FAR, and SPS 510.Accountable for ensuring investigations are performed and applying consequence recommendations for specified role holders in relation to CPS 511Provide expert guidance on FAR regulations to ensure alignment with organisational objectives, supporting APs and MSAL’s compliance with requirementsLead the design and implementation of FAR, embedding into the MMC Pacific compliance framework and meets all regulatory requirements for accountability and governance. Manage and facilitate ongoing monitoring and reporting of FAR compliance, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and timely reporting of FAR AP and RM responsibilities and performance to regulators and internal stakeholders.Embed robust assurance processes for FAR compliance, leading the investigation, reporting, and resolution of any breaches or concerns related to AP or governance structures.Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the framework for appointing and maintaining RMs under ASIC's RG 105Oversee the assessment and appointment of RPs,  lodgements for all regulated roles, working with the Manager RGO to ensure that all assessments are conducted rigorously, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with the organisation’s governance framework.

What you need to have: 

Highly experienced in regulatory compliance or governance preferably within a large superannuation or other financial services organisationExperienced in drafting formal corporate documentation, including board papers, policies and proceduresExperience in interpreting legal requirements of legislationDemonstrated ability to develop detailed knowledge of business processes, policies and proceduresStrong communication skills both written and oralPrior knowledge of CPS 511, SPS 520, RG 105. Prior experience of BEAR or FAR is desirable, but not essentialRegulatory and Governance legal frameworks and applicationSolid understanding of compliance environment relating to FAR and CPS 511
