We are seeking an experienced individual to join the Regulatory Breach Reporting team at Marsh responsible for assessing and reporting regulatory breaches and incidents across a highly regulated environment. This essential role reports to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Breach Reporting and Compliance in ensuring the organisation manages its incidents and breaches effectively and meets its regulatory obligations.
The position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne and is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office per week.
Together with other members of the Regulatory Breach Reporting team we will count on you to:
Undertake assessments of compliance incidents to support the regulatory breach assessment processesPresent compliance assessments to relevant stakeholders and forums as requiredPrepare high quality breach reports and regulatory notifications, briefing papers and submissionsSupport the Incident and Breach Management frameworks, policies, tools, systems and processes required for the organisation to effectively manage compliance risksAssist in the provision of compliance advice, insights, themes, trends to key stakeholders including boards, committees and other forums in relation to incidents and breachesProvide sound pragmatic advice, guidance and support to business leaders on breaches and incidentsSupport Risk and Compliance colleagues across Line 1 and Line 2.Process and Reporting
Prepare (and present as required) concise and meaningful professional risk and compliance reports (including compliance assessments) for management and related Boards and Board sub-committees and other forums as requiredPartner closely with colleagues to drive alignment and consistent implementation of risk and compliance framework accountabilities.Strategy & People
Actively contribute to the priorities of the Compliance functionReview industry developments and consider impacts on the risk and compliance environment.What you need to have:
Proven experience in Line 2 compliance, risk or incident management within Australian financial servicesStrong working knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment, ideally across:Investmentsfinancial adviceInsurance or insurance brokingSuperannuationDemonstrated experience assessing reportable situations and breachesFamiliarity with ASIC, APPRA, OAIC and AUSTRAC expectations and regulatory engagement practicesAbility to interpret legislation, regulatory guidance and prudential standards and apply them pragmaticallyStrong judgement and confidence in making defensible reportability decisionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholdersA tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Risk Management or a related fieldRelevant post graduate and / or professional qualification desirableAt least 5+ years experience in a similar role or compliance role experience in the financial services (superannuation, investments, financial advice, insurance broking / insurance) industry is desirable.What makes you stand out:
