The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service while managing inbound and outbound customer interactions. Responsibilities include answering questions related to pharmacy services, resolving inquiries, managing refill and pharmacy assistance calls, and addressing customer complaints. The technician also handles new pharmacy referrals, verifies insurance coverage, facilitates prior authorization requests, and transcribes prescriptions. This position requires maintaining accurate and complete patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the technician will also coordinate with patients, caregivers, and other care providers.

ResponsibilitiesRespond to inbound and outbound customer calls, ensuring high-quality customer service.Address and resolve a wide range of inquiries related to pharmacy services and delivery.Handle customer complaints and provide assistance in resolving issues.Receive and process new pharmacy referrals, including verifying insurance coverage.Facilitate prior authorization requests and accurately transcribe prescriptions.Generate reports and follow the cycle fill calendar for refill requests.Coordinate delivery and serve as the first point of contact for service-related inquiries.Edit fill list verification, including insurance information and medication alignment.Ensure all patient records are maintained accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.Essential SkillsPharmacy Technician LicensePharmacy Technician Certification2+ years of experience in medical insurance/billing/customer serviceStrong knowledge of medication brands, generics, and dosingValid Florida Pharmacy Technician LicenseAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and AccessData entry experienceStrong customer service focusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOrganization and time management skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDCompletion of a board-approved pharmacy technician training programWillingness to learn new computer softwareTeamwork and problem-solving abilitiesPunctuality and reliabilityDME experienceTelephonic customer service experienceBilingual in English and SpanishExperience with prior authorizationsWork Environment

This position is 100% onsite in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic pharmacy. The team consists of 6 technicians and 3 pharmacists, with a 3 technician to 1 pharmacist ratio on Saturdays. The pharmacy processes approximately 1500 scripts per week as a team. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5:30pm. The company offers a friendly and family-oriented culture, with opportunities to become a permanent employee, pay increases upon permanency, and a 401k match up to 4% once permanent. Additionally, the company provides 6 paid federal holidays during the contract period and is willing to pay for national certification exams for full-time employees.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland Park, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
