Registered Nurse Job, 4 x 10 hour shifts. 8-630p, 9-730p or 11-930p with on-call until unit closed/ Saturday rotation, SAU
Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for SAU to work days and evenings plus call at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.
The Surgical Admission Unit (SAU) at the Community Hospital provides care to the ambulatory surgery population. The Surgical Admission Unit also admits general direct surgical admissions preoperatively, these patients are admitted to the Surgical Admission Unit preoperatively and are admitted to an in house nursing unit post operatively. The surgical population includes but is not limited to general surgeries, cardiac, neurologic, orthopedic, spinal, gynecologic, urologic, ophthalmic, otolaryngologic, dental, podiatric, pediatric and pain injection patients. The ambulatory surgical population ranges from infant to geriatric patients. In addition to surgical patients; the department also provides care to non-surgical patients requiring bedside procedures. All non-surgical treatment and procedures are determined by department policy. Adult and pediatric patients requiring anesthesia for diagnostic testing may also be admitted to the surgical admission unit.
Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process. Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates. Practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of PH by providing the highest quality care. Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau. BSN preferred. Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas. Obtains and maintains current CPR.Your Extraordinary Career Starts Here
