Position Summary
The RN Lead at our Surgery Center provides direct patient care using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—guided by policies, procedures, and standards to ensure safe, therapeutic, and high-quality care. This role also serves as a clinical leader, offering guidance, training, and support to staff while ensuring smooth operations within the assigned area.

84South Pre-Post Department:
54 bed unit over two floors
1 floor is procedural (Pain, GI, IR)
1 floor is OR (ENT, Ortho, Urology, Peds, General, Podiatry, GYN, & plastics)
Patients are prepped and recovered in same room
No “typical” PACU area, they return to pre-op room after procedure
Pre/Post Nurses may work on both floors throughout their shift depending on case volumes
As we are an ASC, we follow strict admission criteria to ensure patients are appropriate for the ASC setting
All RNs are ACLS and PALS certified,
Major Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care and ensure adherence to clinical standards.Act as a resource for employees by providing orientation, training, and day-to-day work direction.Assist with HR responsibilities, including interviewing, onboarding, staff development, and performance feedback.Maintain efficient operations, including staff scheduling and productivity monitoring.Oversee care delivery and ensure accurate documentation per department policy.Manage supply and equipment usage within budget; coordinate purchases and repairs.Serve as liaison with physicians to address concerns and promote programs.Collaborate with management on program development and service enhancements.Coordinate vendor relationships, equipment trials, and product recommendations.Demonstrate age-specific care knowledge and skills across the patient lifespan.Licensure & Certification
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA) within 6 months of hire (unless exempt).Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.Experience
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience - strong preference with Procedural Care - PACU, Peri opKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
