Best Fit Orientation for new RN's:
This innovative program provides exceptional support of newly licensed Registered Nurses through in-depth experiences on three different specialty units at St. Luke's Medical Center.
Applicants will work in a cohort with support and collaboration throughout the program.
In collaboration with the BFO Program Manager, three specialty units will be selected for the unit rotations.
Participants will staff with a preceptor for 3 weeks, (36 hours per week), on 3 Specialty Med/Surg units. Program progresses for a total of three months.
Through a Realistic Job Preview of each unit's culture, the candidate will determine and choose which unit best fits their career goal for longevity.

Requirements:
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
Active Registered Nurse licensure in Wisconsin
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.Must be able to:lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.Must be able to:push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.Position requires use of foot pedals on carts or machines.May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease.
