Job Description:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Women’s HealthFull Time, Third Shift
Women’s & Children’s Services consist of an 18-bed private unit providing comprehensive, patient- and family-centered postpartum care for both mothers and their newborns. The unit emphasizes maternal recovery, newborn well-being, education, and support while ensuring a safe, comfortable environment that promotes bonding and family involvement.
Provides comprehensive nursing care using specialized clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills. Delivers patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while coordinating with the multidisciplinary care team. May provide indirect supervision to LPNs, CNAs, and support staff.
ResponsibilitiesPerform and document initial and ongoing patient assessments
Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care
Administer treatments, medications, and procedures per policy
Monitor patient status and respond to changes or emergencies
Educate patients and families and support discharge planning
Communicate effectively with physicians and care team members
Delegate tasks appropriately and support unit workflow
Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
Participate in rounding, handoff reports, and shared governance activities
Maintain accurate, timely documentation
RequirementsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current RN license in the state of Kentucky (or Kentucky work permit)
Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
No prior experience required (patient care experience preferred)
BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required within 90 days of hire
