Located in the heart of the Niagara region, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH), is a community hospital, providing both inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, complex, palliative care, surgery and a maternal and newborn program. As a site of Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), WLMH also serves as a point of access to one of the largest health systems in Canada for patients requiring more specialized care.

Our Complex Care Registered Nurses care for a wide range of patients with complex medical care issues. All nurses are set up for success and go through a comprehensive onsite orientation program, led by experienced health care professionals and educators. As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and evaluates patient care, and provides nursing care according to the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.

Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nursing of Ontario as a Registered Nurse

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Demonstrated current knowledge of assessment and management of a broad range of medical diagnosis including respiratory, cardiac, musculoskeletal, palliative care, mental health, geriatric, general surgery

Demonstrated expertise in physical assessment, health teaching and clinical decision making

Proficient in insertion of intravenous lines

Blood Glucose Testing by finger prick

Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a effective, professional, caring manner

Demonstrated excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbal

Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills, ongoing professional development

Ability to perform well in high stress situations

Demonstrated current knowledge of cardiac and respiratory arrest procedures

RNAO member preferred
