Job Brief
Conducts nutritional assessments and develops a nutritional care plan for the people that live in our residential program.
Shift Worked: Exempt 37.5 Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Exempt Pay range: $78,000-$78,000POSITION SUMMARY:
Develops and implements food service training programs and conducts nutrition in-services. Monitors food supplies in residences, adherence to diet orders and menus for people living in our residences.
POSITION DUTIES:
Utilizes the nutrition care process to complete all annual nutritional assessments, progress notes, and develops a nutrition plan of care for people living in our residential programs.Assesses the needs of the people that reside in our residential program and prepares diet orders via medical chart review, interviews with the people who reside in our residences, staff interviews, interdisciplinary team input and meal observations.Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings as necessary and functions as a consultant on nutritional care, agency-wide.Responds to nutrition referrals made by outside and affiliate primary care providers. Communicates with residential nursing and when appropriate primary care providers when implementation of nutrition recommendations requires PCP review (e.g. adding or discontinuing nutrition supplements, changing tube feed orders, etc.). Follows up as necessary. Maintains effective written and verbal communications with all agency professionals.Interprets and utilizes pertinent current research related to nutritional care.Provides nutrition in-services for new employee orientation classes, for residential direct care staff and provides on-going nutritional training to all staff.Visits apartments on a regular basis to monitor effectiveness of menus, individualized diets, meal preparation and consumption.Monitors apartment staff for adherence to written nutrition policies and procedures for all food service activities such as food purchasing and receiving, food handling and storage, food preparation and service, and sanitation and safety. Completes and distributes meal observation reports reflecting above.Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition required.Master’s degree in a health-related field required. If not currently held, must complete degree within 6 months to 1 year. Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). RD eligible may apply. NYS Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN). If not currently held, must obtain within 6 months. Minimum 2 years of experience preferred but new graduates welcome to apply.Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and Federal False Claims Acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews. Share
