USGP (US Got People) is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide high-impact nutrition and wellness services to active-duty service members, veterans, and their families at the Health and Wellness Center at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.

Position Details:

Location: Health and Wellness Center, MacDill AFB – Tampa, FLSchedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (up to 40 hours/week)Pay Rate: $34.65/hour + Health and Welfare StipendBenefits Include:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in dietetics from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).

Certification:

Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via an in-person course (e.g., American Red Cross or equivalent – web-based courses not accepted)

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in:Wellness, sports nutrition, or nutrition educationHealth promotion and obesity/weight managementLifestyle counseling and diabetes prevention programsExperience delivering group health education, organizing outreach activities, and working with youth and adult populations

Board Certification:

Board-eligible Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics through the ADA

Licensure:

Maintain an active, valid, unrestricted license (if required by the state)

Key Responsibilities:

Nutrition & Wellness Services:

Deliver comprehensive nutrition and wellness services focused on human performance, disease prevention, and total force readinessDevelop and manage evidence-based interventions to reduce chronic disease risk and healthcare costsAdminister programs such as Healthcare to Health (H2H) and Group Lifestyle Balance

Community Engagement & Education:

Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and facilitate individual and group sessionsConduct outreach and educational initiatives at medical treatment facilities (MTFs), work sites, and community centersUse Motivational Interviewing and other behavioral change techniques to engage patients effectively

Program Development & Evaluation:

Collaborate with H2H and Health Promotion (HP) teams to assess community nutrition needsDevelop, implement, and evaluate primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention programsUtilize social marketing tools to promote program goals and support installation-wide health initiatives

Professional Collaboration & Compliance:

Partner with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and Air Force Health Promotion staffEnsure compliance with all applicable Air Force, DHA, Joint Commission (JC), and AAAHC guidelinesDocument care in accordance with the AND Nutrition Care Process in electronic medical records

Additional Duties:

Participate in briefings, symposiums, training, and quality improvement initiativesProvide expert consultation to leadership and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
