The Regional Sales Manager is a member of the direct (outside) sales team who has responsibility for the sustainable development and growth of Powell’s customer-base and overall sales for the region. The Regional Sales Manager is also responsible for leading, directing and motivating the other sales team members in the region in order to achieve the overall departmental and corporate sales objectives. The Regional Sales Manager ensures the meeting of short-and long-term goals for sales volume and profitability with a high degree of customer satisfaction, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
+ Lead the regional sales team in the development of new business: identifying opportunities, viable target clients and industries.
+ Formulate and implement strategic and tactical sales and marketing plans; oversee all necessary activities to fulfill strategic objectives in accordance with the Powell Global Service annual financial and longer-term growth plan.
+ Provide leadership, mentoring, development and coaching to the associated regional sales team.
+ Lead relationship and stakeholder management across regional business units and customers.
+ Manage regional service sales operations; ensure quotations and tenders are managed in accordance with Powell's practices and procedures.
+ Develop and promote Powell’s brand within the region through frequent customer visits, presentations, lunch & learns, and other marketing activities.
+ Deliver superior customer value through an intimate understanding of their needs and excellent responsiveness.
+ Participate, lead, and present strategic and regional updates and reports through periodic meetings and operation reviews.
+ Drive commercial process improvement activities to improve overall efficiency and value (customer responsiveness, transparency, and sales personnel accountability).
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Business or Technical Sales preferred.
+ Minimum 10 years of sales / marketing / business development experience.
+ A solid understanding of Switchgear, motor control centers, E-Houses, and bus duct type products.
+ A solid understanding of Industries; O&G, PetroChem, Utilities, Datacenters, Mining, Renewables, etc.

+ Strong interpersonal skills with good oral and written communication capabilities.
+ Ability to deliver technical presentations and answer questions.
+ Exhibits a high degree of professionalism & maturity when representing Powell in front of customers.
+ Flexible and quickly adapting to changing priorities.
+ Strong time management and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work well under pressure.
+ Strong verbal/written communication skills in the English language.
+ Good knowledge of commercial issues relating to contracts and agreements.
+ Ability to estimate, negotiate and respond to commercial and technical clarifications.
Work Environment
+ Work will require significant local and/or regional travel to current and potential clients.
+ Work requires a willingness to work a schedule above and beyond normal working hours to meet critical customer deadlines.
+ Work does require occasional overnight travel and possibly international travel.
+ Work does require visits to customer sites (Office and Operational).
+ Safety Training, PPE will be required at certain sites.
+ Work will require travel to current and potential clients with overnight travel (>50%).
+ Must participate in Powell's Driver Safety Program
