Regional Quality Manager

Automotive Manufacturing | Multi-Site Leadership
Location: Columbus, IN (on-site)
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base + bonus

The Opportunity

We’re supporting a global Tier 1 automotive manufacturer with a significant U.S. footprint and long-standing OEM relationships. This organization supplies high-volume, safety-critical systems to major automotive customers and operates multiple plants across North America.

They are hiring a Regional Quality Manager to take ownership of quality performance across several manufacturing sites. This role is not plant-bound. It is strategic, visible, and influential, with direct impact on customer satisfaction, launch execution, and cost of poor quality.

If you’ve led quality at the plant level and want broader scope without losing hands-on influence, this is a strong next step.

What You’ll Own

You’ll set direction, align teams, and drive results across a defined region.

Lead and develop Plant Quality Managers across multiple facilities

Standardize quality systems, procedures, and best practices regionally

Serve as the escalation point for high-impact quality issues

OEM & Customer Interface

Act as the primary regional contact for OEM customers

Lead customer audits, launches, and issue escalations

Drive clear, disciplined 8D and corrective action responses

Own resolution of customer complaints, field issues, and recalls

Quality Systems & Compliance

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OEM requirements

Oversee internal and external audits across all sites

Ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained

Launch & Program Quality

Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Run@Rate

Ensure quality readiness for new programs and product launches

Identify and mitigate launch risks early

Continuous Improvement & Metrics

Own regional KPIs including PPM, COPQ, scrap, warranty, and customer scorecards

Lead root cause analysis for systemic quality issues

Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving tools

Supplier Quality Oversight

Align regional Supplier Quality strategies

Support escalation and resolution of critical supplier issues

Ensure supplier compliance with automotive quality standards

What They’re Looking For

This role is built for a seasoned automotive quality leader who can balance strategy, execution, and customer pressure.

Required background:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)

10+ years of automotive quality experience

Demonstrated multi-site or regional leadership

Deep knowledge of:

IATF 16949

APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA

Strong OEM-facing experience (audits, launches, escalations)

Willingness to travel within the region

Why This Role Stands Out

True regional authority, not a “floating plant role”

Direct OEM exposure and executive visibility

Strong compensation with bonus upside

Stable, global organization with long-term programs

Opportunity to influence quality culture at scale
