Overview
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing operational, logistical, and administrative functions across multiple Assisted Living Facility (ALF) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) – based primary care practices. This leader coordinates provider scheduling and coverage, manages facility relationships, drives operational efficiency, and ensures high performance across care teams. The role blends operational oversight with performance management, ensuring high ‑ quality patient care, provider productivity, compliance, and excellent client experience within the ALF & SNF environments.
Responsibilities
+ Operational Leadership & Facility Relationship Management
+ Serve as primary point of contact for ALF or SNF administrators and facility leadership across the region.
+ Strengthen building penetration support client satisfaction, and lead issue resolution related to patient care, provider interactions, or operational barriers.
+ Ensure ALF or SNF operations meet industry standards, organizational policies, and regulatory guidelines.
+ Support state and federal survey preparation and on-site operational compliance.
+ Provider Scheduling, Coverage & Logistics
+ Create and manage provider schedules and facility coverage across the region, ensuring continuity of care.
+ Maintain accurate 24/7 call rotations, provider PTO tracking, and backup coverage plans.
+ Optimize geographic routing to reduce provider travel time and increase visit efficiency.
+ Facilitate onboarding and shadowing schedules for new clinicians; manage credentialing, collaborative agreements, and provider access to buildings and systems.
+ Performance Monitoring & Productivity Management
+ Monitor and analyze KPIs including:
+ Visit volume, home ‑ visit completion rates, and patient panel size
+ Readmission rates
+ Preventive care metrics and value ‑ based care compliance
+ Same ‑ day/urgent visit responsiveness
+ Review and operationalize dashboards supporting provider productivity, geographic efficiency, and quality outcomes.
+ Conduct monthly/quarterly performance reviews with Regional Clinical Directors; identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Support providers in closing gaps in care and meeting quality measure expectations (e.g., HEDIS, STAR ratings).
+ Administrative Oversight & Financial Processes
+ Manage regional expenses, payroll, CME tracking, reimbursement, and supply ordering.
+ Oversee account access, track credentialing, manage collaborative agreements, and support patient intake workflows.
+ Implement operational policies and ensure adherence to organizational best practices.
+ Support budget monitoring, cost controls, and optimization across regional operations.
+ Provider Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Act as a resource for clinicians regarding workflows, processes, and medical group policies.
+ Partner closely with Regional Clinical Directors to support provider retention, engagement, and performance accountability.
+ Collaborate with schedulers, performance analytics teams, and leadership to streamline operations and improve patient access.
+ Address provider concerns, operational barriers, and workflow inefficiencies proactively.
Qualifications
+ Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field required.
+ 3–5 years of supervisory, operational, or administrative leadership experience in healthcare required.
+ Experience in primary care, home ‑ based care, or ALF/SNF settings strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and provider roles (MDs, NPs, PAs, RNs, MAs).
+ Knowledge of KPIs, quality measures, and value ‑ based care models.
+ Skilled in schedule optimization, geographic routing, and logistics planning.
+ Proficiency with EMR systems, Excel, and dashboard/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with clinical and operational leadership.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead regional teams across multiple locations.
+ Excellent problem ‑ solving, organizational, and time ‑ management skills.
+ Ability to work independently and make data ‑ driven decisions.
+ Travel 25-50% across assigned region
