+ Administer and execute the Dangerous Goods Compliance program at the regional level, according to company objectives, policies, and procedures.
+ Identify dangerous goods at compliance risks and escalate them as needed for regional leadership.
+ Continuously monitor and interpret regional and national laws governing the transport, storage, and handling of dangerous goods to ensure compliance and operational alignment.
+ Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, customers, carriers, and terminal operators to resolve DG-related issues and maintain strong working relationships.
+ Assist in the design and development of DG training programs and deliver training sessions regionally as needed to ensure workforce competency.
+ Provide technical support to regional and local health and safety managers on DG-related matters, including risk mitigation and compliance strategies.
+ Lead or support investigations into DG incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are documented and implemented.
+ Review and approve high-risk DG shipments, ensuring that all regulatory and safety requirements are met before transport.
+ Provide DG expertise during customer and carrier contract reviews to ensure alignment with legal and operational standards.
+ Monitor emerging trends in dangerous goods regulations and industry practices and propose strategic responses to mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities.
+ Lead and participate in regional outreach efforts such as webinars, GLCs, and focus groups to promote awareness and best practices in DG handling.
+ Work with regional leadership to determine whether adequate dangerous goods structure & staff are in each district.
+ Minimum 5 years of forwarding industry experience or equivalent
+ Proven experience in dangerous goods compliance, logistics, or safety management
+ In-depth knowledge of international and regional DG regulations (e.g., IATA, IMDG, DOT, ADR)
+ Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
+ Experience interacting with government agencies
+ Experience in training development and delivery
+ Ability to lead investigations and manage complex regulatory issues
