Regional Human Resources Manager
BMW of McKinney Location: 2601 N. Central Expressway, McKinney, Texas 75071 Summary: Plans, directs, implements, and oversees human resources policies and activities within assigned region, including but not limited to: hiring, compensation, training, employee relations, and communications for assigned multi-state region. This position will be responsible for locations in McKinney & Austin, Texas, Kansas City, and California. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: General + Provide high level of customer service to dealership management, employees, and candidates. + Responds timely to inquiries from employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs. + Responsible for Company compliance with Federal/State law and Hendrick policies pertaining to all employment matters. Stays up to date with state-specific laws/regulations that impact the organization. + Works directly with General Managers and Department Managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on employment matters. + Analyzes trends at specified locations in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and employee concerns to determine support or action needed to improve unfavorable trends. + Builds relationships with management & employees through regular visits to assigned stores. + Conducts needs assessment, develops training curriculum if needed, and conducts training sessions for management on various HR topics. + Conducts EEO/Anti-Harassment training in-person with managers at assigned locations every 12-18 months. + Reviews pay plans for accuracy and compliance with the FLSA. Employee Relations + Responsible for investigating and documenting complex employee relations matters; works with appropriate managers on resolution, including providing recommendations and drafting counseling documents/other corrective action documentation. May assist in conducting counseling sessions with employees and managers. + Responsible for effective case management of all inquiries made by EEOC, DOL, ESC and other governmental agencies; Consults with legal counsel as directed by the Director, Human Resources. Assists with employee litigation issues, as needed. Management Responsibility + Effectively manage and develop HR Coordinator/HR Generalist. + Conducts annual performance review with HR Coordinator/HR Generalist. Reporting + Responsible for metric reporting in market-area as requested by various departments or managers within the organization. + Conducts HRIS data audits at all assigned locations to ensure data integrity. California HR + Ensures compliance with all California state and local laws. + Maintains California compliance calendar. + Performs audits to ensure compliance with California laws, especially wage & hour. + Conducts/coordinates state required non-supervisory/supervisory training. Assesses need for additional training with managers or employees and conducts as needed. + Stays current on California state and local laws and recommends policy or procedure changes, as applicable. Other + Participates in special projects when assigned. + Participates in required training for the HR team, attends monthly team meetings virtually and in-person when scheduled. + Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values. + Demonstrates high level of ethics and professionalism in all interactions. + Complies with Company policies and procedures. + Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties. + Other duties as assigned. Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills. Certificates and Licenses: √ Valid Driver’s License √ SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP or the ability to obtain within 18 months of hire. Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Ability to learn and utilize HRIS. Communication Skills: Ability to understand and follow instructions. Position requires extensive communication and interaction with Executive Management, Management Office employees, dealership management and dealership employees. Attendance Expectations: The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Hours may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays to meet required deadlines. Position is not remote and will be performed at assigned office location. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Environment Demands: Duties are performed primarily an office environment in the management office in addition to dealerships. Moderate travel by air and car is required (up to 50% of the time). Math Ability: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Verbal and Writing Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of management. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations. Ability to effectively present information to Executive management. Reasoning Ability: Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
