Regional Field Service Engineer | Portland, OR
Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized staffing firm, is targeting a High Voltage Field Service Engineer for our widely diversified, critical equipment manufacturing client in Portland, Oregon. The incumbent will perform preventive/corrective maintenance on HV equipment, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and execute/supervise installation and commissioning.

69kV – 550kV experience is a must | up to 90% Travel | Generous relocation is available!

Highlighted Benefits: Competitive Salaries including Guaranteed 40 hours/pay & Door to door pay, including OT Annual Bonus | Industry leading benefits: PTO, low employee contribution for medical insurance Access to industry leading certifications | Robust Training Program Company Vehicle & Corporate credit card for expenses Qualifications: 3-5+ years of High Voltage Substations and equipment (>69kV), doing field assignments, erection, testing and repair Reside within the Portland, OR area or willing to relocate Equipment experience: transformers, generators, breakers, capacitor banks Knowledge of operating test equipment, such as CB timers, power factor, TTR, conductor, CT testers, Megger Experience performing electrical tests, SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, & contact resistance Duties: Perform field service operations that present usual or unusual problems requiring solid technical skills. Execute or supervise the installation and commissioning of high voltage substation equipment (69kV through 550kV) Supervise electricians and contractors provided by the customer. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on High Voltage equipment. Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying own knowledge and experience. Perform and document field tests such as electrical tests, SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, contact resistance. Compile and evaluate data to determine and resolve operating problems or malfunctions.  Conduct inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs and assist in determining resource requirements. Develop recommendations and prepare written reports.  Maintain detailed records and logs. Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts. Often work nonstandard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions. Follow safety policies and procedures. Travel estimated at 90%
