About Your Role:
As a Regional Asset Protection Manager at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll lead and support shrink reduction and asset protection strategies across multiple retail locations within your assigned market. Through audits, investigations, training, and collaboration with field and corporate partners, you’ll help ensure a safe, secure, and compliant operating environment. Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Shrink Reduction, Audits & Investigations:
Support and lead the company’s Shrink Reduction Strategy in assigned stores
Conduct store visits and complete Non‑Negotiable Audits and Asset Protection Audits, scoring performance against established criteria
Report audit findings to Store Managers, Field Managers, the Zone Asset Protection Director, and Corporate Leadership
Utilize exception‑based reporting to monitor POS alerts, cash discrepancies, sales losses, and inventory trends
Conduct in‑store surveillance using Asset Protection tools to identify internal integrity issues, safety concerns, fines, and lost sales
Conduct General Loss Interviews in high‑shrink locations
Investigate suspected fraudulent activity and escalate findings to Asset Protection Business Partners
Training, Compliance & Store Support:
Train Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers on Asset Protection procedures and compliance, including shrink, cash management, physical security, workplace violence prevention, safety, and robbery/burglary prevention
Plan and facilitate employee training on Asset Protection policies and procedures
Ensure implementation and adherence to all company policies and procedures
Recommend improvements to physical security measures to reduce loss
Incident Response & Partnerships:
Support investigations of robberies and burglaries, escalating to the Major Crimes Team as appropriate
Support workplace violence investigations and threat assessments
Investigate repeat theft cases and Organized Retail Crime (ORC), escalating to the Major Crimes Team
Collaborate with Law Enforcement, including external blitzes, partnership‑building activities, and National Night Out events
Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, HR, Legal, and People Solutions on internal investigations and special projects
Equipment & Operational Oversight:
Ensure Asset Protection equipment is operational and used effectively, including CCTV, exit alarms, burglar alarms, and smart safes
Assist with special projects impacting stores within the assigned area of responsibility
Your Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred
7+ years of experience in a retail asset protection leadership or investigative role
Wicklander‑Zulawski Basic Interview Training or a minimum of three years’ experience conducting investigations and interviews
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to travel locally and overnight as needed; valid driver’s license required
Ability to work a flexible full‑time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Requirements:
Experience supporting multi‑unit retail environments
Demonstrated success partnering with field leadership and law enforcement
Experience with exception‑based reporting and asset protection technology tools
