Job Title: Refinery Operator

Job Description

The Operator plays a crucial role in supporting plant operations across various areas including utilities, logistics, maintenance, construction, commissioning, and post-startup production within a renewable fuels facility. This position involves working in a rotating 12-hour shift to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations.

Responsibilities

Monitor and operate process units and tank farm systems using equipment such as reactors, pumps, compressors, boilers, furnaces, and heat exchangers.Perform and document unit rounds using round sheets and calling cards.Adjust, start, stop, and maintain equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Monitor and adjust flows, temperatures, and pressures to maintain within operating limits.Safely collect product samples and determine tank flow rates and volumes.Communicate with operators, maintenance staff, and supervisors to address process changes or issues.Operate manual and automatic valves, meters, pumps, and transfer systems.Report safety concerns and take corrective action as necessary.Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.Perform housekeeping and clean equipment as needed.Work varied schedules and respond to emergency calls.Comply with all company safety and environmental policies.Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Ability to independently monitor and operate process/utility units.Strong hands-on operations in a refinery or chemical plant.Experience with tank farms, heat exchangers, furnaces, and pressure vessels.Chemical and pressure checks expertise.Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.Operation and preventive maintenance skills.Proficiency in using valves and mechanical maintenance.Strong computer skills, including Google G Suite and Microsoft Office.Renewable fuels knowledge.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.Ability to work effectively under pressure.

This role operates within an outdoor and indoor refinery environment, involving rotating 12-hour shifts. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $101500.00/yr.
