Responsibilities

The Activities Director will present timely activities and programs including adjustments due to weather and seasonal fluctuations; design programs that attract targeted guest population; efficiency in using hotel’s resources to publicize program information; produce effective communications that are appropriate for the audience; effectively handle guests and clients by phone.  Organize quality programs targeted to meet the needs and limits of a variety of guests; assist in the evaluation of events against both participant expectations and financial objectives; respond promptly and professionally to guest comments regarding programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a diverse and engaging recreational program for guestsOrganize quality programs targeted to meet the needs and limits of a variety of guests; assist in the evaluation of events against both participant expectations and financial objectives; respond promptly and professionally to guest comments regarding programsLead and motivate a team of recreation staff, fostering a positive work environmentDesign, coordinate and supervise recreational activities, events, and facilities targeted to meet the needs of guests as outlined in the resort's Business PlanInteract with guests, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceededManage the recreation budget and ensure cost-effective operationsCollaborate with other departments to coordinate joint activities and promotionsMaintain equipment, inventory, and supplies for recreational activitiesMonitor guest satisfaction and feedback, making necessary improvementsProvide leadership and oversight to pool activies team, including but not limited to towel service, special event activations, life guard duties, & daily eventsPartner with the Marketing Department to create and develop promotional materials for offered programPresent timely activities and programs including adjustments due to weather and seasonal fluctuations; design programs that attract targeted guest population; efficiency in using hotel’s resources to publicize program information; produce effective communications that are appropriate for the audience; effectively handle guests and clients by phone. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality, or related field preferredProven experience in a leadership role in the hospitality or recreation industryStrong organizational and planning skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesKnowledge of recreational programs and trendsBudget management and financial acumenAbility to lead and inspire a teamFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Benefits
