Recovery Technician
GFL ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
The Recovery Technician will be relied upon to visit client sites across the province to collect and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. As a professional driver with a safe driving record, this the Recovery Technician will utilize TDG knowledge and experience to assist with labeling containers and preparing transport documentation. Frequent travel is required and the chosen candidate must have the ability to do overnight trips up to three days at a time.
Responsibilities
Safely operate all required transport equipmentProfessionally represent GFL on all client sites and look for ways to expand servicesEnsure all assigned equipment is properly loaded and maintainedCommunicate effectively with a team of qualified professionalsParticipate in safety meetings, last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessmentsIdentify and classify all types of hazardous wasteRequirements
Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract. Willingness to obtain a Class 1 license if requiredTDG knowledge and experience is an assetAble to work independentlyWillingness to travel with frequent overnight tripsAbility to work in all weather conditionsCustomer service experienceSelf-motivated attitudeExperience working in a safety sensitive environment
