Job Description
As a Record Specialist, you will be responsible for processing orders and moving boxes of files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other materials. This role involves physical tasks such as manual lifting, carrying, and arranging boxes while standing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and twisting. You must be able to lift and carry boxes ranging in weight from 10 to 100 pounds regularly, without assistance. Additionally, you will need to load and safely operate hand trucks and pallet jacks while navigating uneven and concrete surfaces.
ResponsibilitiesGrip, lift, push, pull, and carry boxes including up and down inclines, stairs, and over changes in walking surface/elevation.Read and write English to effectively process incoming and outgoing orders.Use the proprietary computer system to track orders and determine the location of boxes.Operate handheld scanners to read labels and process orders.Load and shrink wrap pallets at ground level or on carts.Load boxes onto pallets and load pallets onto trucks manually and with material handling aids.Essential SkillsAbility to walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, and bend for extended periods.Capability to work independently without assistance.Proficiency in reading and writing English.Experience in operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling aids.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with forklift operation and order picking.Familiarity with RF scanners and general production tasks.Work Environment
The work environment is manufacturing-based, requiring physical activity and the use of various material handling equipment on a daily basis.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, Alabama.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
