Quality Inspectors perform quality checks on manufacturing processes and products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the production line by verifying the quality of incoming materials and ensuring that machinists receive quality pieces before starting their work.
ResponsibilitiesUse specialized equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure and verify product dimensions and tolerances.Document and report any defects or non-conformities discovered during inspection, and work with production staff to resolve any issues.Continuously monitor quality control procedures to identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to management.Conduct periodic audits of production lines to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.Collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop and implement new quality control procedures and testing protocols.Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations, and ensure that all quality control processes are in line with these guidelines.Train new employees on quality control procedures and expectations to ensure consistency in product quality.Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot quality issues, and work with other departments to implement solutions.Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding quality control requirements, and help resolve any quality issues that arise throughout the supply chain.Interpret drawings using standard GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to determine part conformity.Essential SkillsProven quality experience in the manufacturing industry.Detail-oriented with strong attention to quality.Experience interpreting drawings and/or written work instructions to complete a quality task.Proficiency in inspection equipment including depth micrometer, calipers, height gauge, and tape measure.Basic skills in mathematics and geometrics.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Availability to work overtime, including Saturdays.Available Shift & Pay1st shift Mon-Fri (7am-3:30pm) with heavy overtime, including Saturdays$18-20 based on experience

Work Environment
This traditional machine shop and assembly operation features over 100 CNC machines. The assembly area resembles a job shop and is climate-controlled, bright, and moderately organized. Inspectors spend time in the more private quality area when needed. The work shifts are 1st shift Mon-Fri (7am-3:30pm) with heavy overtime, including Saturdays, and 2nd shift Mon-Fri (3:30pm-12am) with similar overtime requirements, including weekends. A 10% shift differential applies for 2nd shift.
