Receiving Inspector

Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily receiving, in-process, and final inspections to identify defects or deviations from design specifications.
Document defects and nonconformances clearly and accurately, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive resolution.
Verify completed manufacturing operations for compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the development and execution of aircraft inspection plans utilizing CMMs, laser trackers, and other advanced inspection tools.
Support company inspection activities, including FAA conformity inspections, to aid certification processes.
Assist in implementing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies, including PFMEA, control plans, and SPC, to enhance product quality and process control.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years of hands-on experience using precision inspection tools, including surface plates, thread gauges, pin gauges, micrometers, calipers, height masters, and height gauges.
Proven ability to review engineering drawings and tolerances, ensuring dimensional requirements are verifiable and compliant.
Skilled in surface plate layout measurement techniques.
Proficient in interpreting quality control specifications, blueprints, and engineering documentation, including mechanical and electrical symbols and critical characteristic definitions.
Experience performing AS9102-compliant First Article Inspections (FAI) with knowledge of required inspection tools and documentation.
Familiarity with MES systems (e.g., SAP) and electronic inspection planning.
Strong understanding of measurement concepts, terminology, scales, and the distinction between accuracy and precision.
Basic knowledge of calibration principles and practices.
Ability to identify inspection errors, recognize nonconformances, and initiate corrective actions.
Knowledge of statistical sampling methods and lot sampling requirements.
Experience working in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in team-based environments.
