Receiving Inspector
**Job Title: Receiving Inspector** **Job Description** As a Quality Inspector, you will perform quality checks on manufacturing processes and products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications. Your role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the production process, starting with the inspection of incoming raw materials and parts from suppliers. **Responsibilities** + Use specialized equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure and verify product dimensions and tolerances. + Document and report any defects or non-conformities discovered during inspection, and work with production staff to resolve any issues. + Continuously monitor quality control procedures to identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to management. + Conduct periodic audits of production lines to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. + Collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop and implement new quality control procedures and testing protocols. + Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations, and ensure that all quality control processes align with these guidelines. + Train new employees on quality control procedures and expectations to ensure consistency in product quality. + Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot quality issues, and work with other departments to implement solutions. + Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding quality control requirements, and help resolve any quality issues that arise throughout the supply chain. + Interpret drawings using standard GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to determine part conformity. **Essential Skills** + Proven quality experience in the manufacturing industry. + Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy. + Experience interpreting drawings and/or written work instructions. + Proficiency in inspection equipment (e.g., depth micrometer, calipers, height gage, tape measure). + Basic skills in mathematics and geometrics. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + Availability to work overtime, including Saturdays. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in a machine shop environment, particularly with custom parts. + Experience with deburring and finishing machined parts. + Machining experience to understand the concept of producing quality parts. + Assembly experience to understand the importance of part fitting. **Available Shift & Pay** + 1st shift: 7am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday) + At this time there is Heavy OT, working every Saturday and staying after the shift + 2nd shift: 3:30pm - 12:00am (Monday - Friday) + At this time there is Heavy OT, working every Saturday and staying after the shift + **$22-24 based on experience** **Why Work Here?** Join a family-owned facility with a new leadership team focused on enhancing company culture and building a lasting legacy. The facility is climate-controlled and brightly lit, offering a balanced environment between organization and the nature of a working machine shop. Inspectors will spend time on the shop floor as well as in a dedicated quality area. The position offers heavy overtime opportunities with options for 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) or 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am), including a 10% shift differential for the latter. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
