Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Receiving Inspector 4 to support our Armament Systems business site located in Plymouth, MN.

Description of Position

Inspection of incoming goods & services to inspection plans, drawings and established standards for a variety of fabricated, machined, electro-mechanical assemblies, circuit cards, castings, etc.  Perform visual and dimensional inspections per established criteria.  Review of supplier data packages (test data and certifications) to requirements.  Perform inspections for first article, lot acceptance tests and special requests per criteria.   

Responsibilities:

Inspection of received goods and servicesAS9102 First article inspections, LAT Lot Acceptance Testing, PCA (Physical Configuration Audits)Special/Prototype inspectionsReview of supplier test data and certification packagesDevelop CMM and VMM measurement programsConsult with engineers for measurement methodologyConstruct holding fixtures for CMM measurementConduct internal auditsMaintain lab practices/operations in compliance with standards & certificationsIssue and follow up on discrepancy reportsSupport QMS audits and corrective actions

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, Associated Technical Degree, Certification, or Diploma6 years’ dimensional inspection experience in the aerospace industry or similar highly regulated environmentKnowledge of AS9100Minimum 3 years PC-DMIS or CMM Calypso programming experienceMinimum 3 years Zone 3 VMM programming experienceExperience reading blueprintsAdvanced GD&T skillsExperienced in surface plate inspections using standard measuring equipmentDimensional inspection experience utilizing micrometers, bore gages, height gages, dial indicators, gage blocks, optical comparators, hardness testers, profilometers, etc.  Experience inspecting circuit boards and assembliesFamiliar with sampling plans

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 8 years’ electro/mechanical calibration experience in aerospace or similar highly regulated environment.Formal advanced GD&T trainingIPC-A-600 and/or IPC-A-610 CertificationsExperience with Net-InspectSource Inspection experienceASQ Certified Quality Inspector

Salary Range: $67,300.00 - $112,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
