As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

 

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Develops and maintains user interface components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Typescript Deep understanding of React and its core principles, with a proven track record of building complex applications Experience with frontend state management libraries e.g. Redux Proficiency in modern frontend build pipelines and tools, including npm and webpack Strong understanding of ReSTful APIs and asynchronous request handling Proven experience with Distributed Systems and Cloud Technologies Collaborates with UX/UI designers to translate design wireframes into high-quality code Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience  Experience as a UI Developer or similar role Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, React and familiarity with version control systems, such as Git Experience building ReSTful APIs and asynchronous request handling Understanding of web development best practices and performance optimization techniques Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
