Railcar Repairman
**Job Title: Railcar Repairman** **Job Description** As a Railcar Repairman, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and welding work to repair rail cars. This role involves a mix of 60% mechanical work and 40% welding. The position is physically demanding and requires working in a dirty environment. While fluxcore welding is preferred, training is available for those with MIG welding skills. A weld test will assess your current skills and determine necessary training. **Responsibilities** + Work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks. + Coordinate and complete all railcar repairs and maintenance. + Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints/schematics to perform required repairs. + Utilize basic mechanical skills and build knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut, and gouge. + Notify of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks. + Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean, and comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety policies. + Ensure FRA, AAR, and customer quality standards are met. + Complete any other duties as assigned to complete the task. + Perform tasks supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollidaysburg, PA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
