Job Summary:\rThe Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages to provide\rphysicians with data for diagnostic purposes. This position works under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\rDemonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to department\rprotocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self and\rothers.\rPerforms Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings. Evaluates images for technical quality, performs\rpost processing of data and ensures proper Patient identification is recorded.\rProvides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their procedures\rand exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all.\rApplies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to\remergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique and\rhand washing policies.\rAssists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols.\rOther duties as assigned.\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:Accredited Program Radiologic Technology\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.ARRT-R - ARRT RadiographyBLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rAbility to operate Diagnostic Imaging equipment\rAbility to communicate verbally and written\rPossess excellent patient/customer service skills
