Job Description:

Radiology Technician-PRN

Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams following established protocols and physician orders.Verify patient identity, exam orders, and medical history prior to procedures.Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout imaging, maintaining proper positioning and communication.Apply radiation protection standards (ALARA) for patients, self, and staff during all procedures.Produce and review diagnostic images for Radiologist interpretation; verify accurate image archiving in PACS.Administer contrast materials and perform peripheral venipuncture when indicated, documenting all details in the electronic health record (EHR).Monitor patients during exams and report any changes in condition or adverse reactions immediately.Perform daily equipment checks, quality control (QC), and report malfunctions or safety issues promptly.Maintain proper inventory of supplies and linens, ensuring readiness and efficiency within the department.Collaborate with Radiologists, Nursing, and other departments to coordinate patient flow and exam scheduling.Support accreditation and compliance initiatives (e.g., ACR Accreditation, safety drills, and infection control).Participate in staff training, student instruction, and onboarding of new team members.Maintain professionalism through appearance, conduct, and adherence to all hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) LicenseCurrent License with the American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) RegistryMust obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association within 6 months
