The University of Miami UHealth System Department of Radiology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Radiologic Tech 1 in downtown Miami. The incumbent is responsible for performing complex procedures in Radiology through the operations of radiographic equipment to obtain highest quality of diagnostic images with the least amount of radiation exposure. Independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative are essential in addition to responsibility for designated areas, procedures and equipment. Supervises the day-to-day operations in the absence of modality Chief Technologist or Radiology Manager.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.2. Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, and computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.3. Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories.4. Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors patients’ conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician.5. Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.6. Arranges imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.7. Records, processes, maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports.8. Organizes examination rooms, ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use.9. Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Associate degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.
ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality required.
Experience:Three (3) years of relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.• Commitment to the University’s core values.• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
