DuPont is seeking an R&D Technologist to support our Shelter Solutions business at our Midland, MI site. This on‑site role supports business and project objectives by delivering high‑quality laboratory data. The position requires independent work, sound technical judgment, and active participation in a collaborative, safety‑focused laboratory environment. Relocation assistance is not available.

Key Responsibilities

Independently perform laboratory testing and experimental activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and high‑quality results.Respond promptly to requests from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.Document work clearly and consistently using established reports, logs, and summaries.Troubleshoot well‑defined technical issues related to sample preparation, instrumentation, and test execution.Continuously seek improvements in experimental quality, methods, and laboratory practices.Build technical credibility by delivering reliable results and following through on commitments.Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders through clear, respectful communication.Maintain an organized, safe laboratory workspace and support continuous improvements in lab operations.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GEDExperience performing laboratory testing, including hands‑on use of Instron testing equipmentAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesStrong time management, organizational, and problem‑solving skillsProficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in EnglishBasic chemical knowledge and comfort working with chemicalsExperience using shop or construction tools (e.g., band saw)Strong commitment to safety and compliance with laboratory proceduresAbility to quickly learn new technical processes and adapt to changing laboratory practicesExperience collaborating with customers, partners, and other stakeholders and communicating results effectively
