Job Summary
SiTime is seeking an R&D Manager to join our team in developing and refining our in-house MEMS simulation and design software. The team comprises software developers, computational experts, and physicists who develop and maintain the MEMS simulation and design environment. This work involves orchestrating complex simulations across multiple physical domains, implementing advanced mathematical algorithms, analyzing trade-offs between key characteristics, verifying simulation results, and ensuring both manufacturability and high predictive power of simulations. As an R&D Manager, you will contribute to development planning in alignment with the company’s product roadmap, communicate with the Design, Fabrication, and Metrology teams, support the product owner, and guide the team’s work toward agreed milestones. You will collaborate with internal users to collect feedback, identify missing functionalities and new milestones, take ownership of system components, and manage several engineers.

Responsibilities:
Guide the implementation of new modules and features for the in-house MEMS simulation and design platform. Oversee the verification and validation of new features.Manage 2-5 engineers; participate in hiring activities.Communicate with MEMS designers, project leaders, and department leaders to collect feedback and feature requests.Contribute to maintaining the development roadmap, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and incoming requests. Identify gaps and limitations in existing functionality and simulations.Contribute to the development of the platform and analyze its accuracy and performance; compare simulation results with experimental data.Provide occasional consultations and training to MEMS design engineers.
Qualifications & Requirements (Education must be included):
PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.Experience with FEA simulation tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, or similar). Deep understanding of Finite Element Analysis and its application to problems in various physical domains (mechanics, electrostatics, thermal conductivity, non-linear effects).Strong mathematics skills: linear algebra, statistics, operator theory, computational methods, and cost-function optimization techniques.Experience in personnel management, project management, product development, or organizing research activities is a strong advantage.Coding skills (sufficient for complex scripting, automation of data analysis, and visualization of results; preferably Python or MATLAB) are a strong advantage.Experience with analysis of experimental data and understanding related challenges is a strong advantage.Passion for working on challenging physical problems and complex multi-factor systems. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, clear communication, responsibility for the overall success of the project.Technical curiosity.Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.English fluency in written and spoken communication.
