Hiring a Phlebotomist - Queens Float!

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced phlebotomist with a minimum of three years of recent experience. The ideal candidate must be proficient with straight needles and comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one. Strong communication skills, reliability, and punctuality are essential for this role. Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously.Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are correct against scripts.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples at the required temperature and place them in appropriate containers, accurately labeling them and following protocol procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport.

Essential Skills

Minimum of two years' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Specimen collection and centrifuge handling.Phlebotomy and blood draw skills.Venipuncture proficiency.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson Heights, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
