Quantitative Portfolio Manager, State Street Investment Management, Assistant Vice President

Position Summary

We are seeking a Quantitative Portfolio Manager to join the global Systematic Active Equity team based in Sydney. The Sydney team manages global and local equity portfolios, on behalf of our clients in the Asian Pacific region. The strategies cover the full active risk spectrum.  The team is client-centric and performance-driven.  Our investment strategies have delivered outstanding performance, and we have experienced strong growth in AUM. The role reports to the Head of Systematic Active Equities, APAC.

What you will be responsible for

As a Quantitative Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for:

Day-to-day portfolio management covering daily cash flows, corporate actions, and portfolio rebalancing

Quantitative research and data analysis to further the investment process

Portfolio risk analysis and performance attribution

Building tools to help streamline processes and reporting

Assisting with development of client reporting and marketing material

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, likely in a mathematical, scientific or economics discipline.

Experience in quantitative modelling, programming and or data science.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

A passion for financial markets and investing

Team player, with ability to operate independently and deliver results within clear timelines  

Additional requirements

Familiar with the R or Python programming language, or an aptitude to develop this skill

Experience in managing large datasets
