The Quality Technician will be responsible for reviewing products as they progress through the production line, from start to finish. This role is integral to the ramp-up for the snow season, requiring an understanding of basic measurements using micrometers and calipers. Familiarity with CMM is an advantage. The technician will follow the product journey from the fabrication shop through the weld shop to the final product, documenting each stage using programs such as Excel, SharePoint, and Minitab. The role requires basic math skills and involves a balance of 50% documentation and 50% hands-on work.
ResponsibilitiesReview and inspect products throughout the production process.Utilize micrometers and calipers for measurement.Document processes using Excel, SharePoint, and Minitab.Understand and apply measurement scales and terminology.Perform basic mathematical operations and measurement conversions.Select appropriate measuring tools and techniques.Measure using surface plate layouts.Collaborate with other departments to reduce waste.Essential SkillsProficiency in using calipers and micrometers.Strong understanding of quality control and inspection procedures.Knowledge of measurement types, scales, and terminology.Ability to perform basic math and solve for x.Experience with measurement conversions and adding/subtracting degrees, minutes, and seconds.Capability to select and use appropriate measuring tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsCMM experience is a plus.Familiarity with PPAP and other quality certifications is advantageous.Knowledge of quality methodologies such as SPC, 8D, and 5 Whys is beneficial.Blueprint reading skills required with detailed understanding.Problem-solving and diagnostic skills.Good communication skills.Work EnvironmentThe position involves working in a fabrication shop and manufacturing/assembly floor across two different plants. The role includes working across inspection lines, with an emphasis on reducing waste. There is significant room for growth within the quality team, contributing to initiatives aimed at minimizing waste costs.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
