Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in the production of premium sauces. The role involves performing line clearance, equipment swabbing, and quality audits across production lines. The technician will document process check results, report any out-of-specification issues, and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
Responsibilities
Verify that production lines are clear before startup.Perform equipment swabbing after sanitation.Conduct quality audits on each production line throughout the shift.Document in-line process check results according to pre-approved specifications.Report any Out of Specification (OOS) or non-conformance issues to production.Ensure immediate corrective action is completed before startup for any non-conformance.Label and store non-compliant products following the MRB process.Perform periodic quality and GMP audits of the production area, particularly at the mix deck.Audit staged ingredients to ensure no expired materials are used.Conduct temperature audits of ingredients, work-in-progress, and finished products during production.Prepare shift reports for follow-up by the next shift.Perform case counts audits on all products.Execute daily pre-operational inspections.Assist in metal detector validations and perform regular in-process metal detector line checks.Ensure operators follow metal detector Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Report any food safety risks to the supervisor.Collect samples from raw materials, in-process, and finished products for lab testing.Essential Skills
Experience in inspection, quality control, and food manufacturing.Proficiency in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).Experience working night shifts: Monday to Friday, and some Saturdays from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.Microsoft Office proficiency.Strong communication and organizational skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field.Experience in food manufacturing quality control.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
