The Quality Technician assists the Quality Coordinators (QC) to execute the business, site, and plant/department quality guidelines that enable the business to profitably meet customer and product regulatory requirements. This role also helps promote a customer-focused culture within the plant and enhances the front-line knowledge and accountability for quality. This position reports to the HIMS Site Quality Leader, with key involvement between site Quality Engineers, the Quality Control Laboratory, Production operators, and external customers. **Typical Responsibilities:** + Support implementation and maintenance of the business/site quality programs which align to the quality management system at the plant level. + Conduct audits of plants, labs, warehouses, contract manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, etc. to ensure customer and business needs are met. + Participate in the review of plant and cross functional projects having a potential impact on product quality. + Facilitate the operation of quality dashboards for the plant. + Participate in management of change reviews that potentially impact product quality (e.g. specification, train qualifications, plant equipment / systems, analytical testing, etc.). In some cases, this role may also lead change management (e.g., document and specification management related to the quality management system) that impact product quality. + Provide local quality training support and guidance to plant and other roles that impact product quality (e.g. lab, maintenance, logistics, etc.) on customer and product regulatory requirements. + Assist Plant QCs in monitoring the effectiveness of the quality management system and communicate improvement opportunities. For example, raw material quality etc. + Participate in product quality-related problem-solving efforts with quality tools, e.g., Corrective Action Management Process, the Root Cause Investigation Process with emphasis on providing permanent solutions. Escalate unresolved product quality issues to the appropriate contact and follow up on resolution. + Support QCs in ensuring plant Operating Discipline systems, procedures and guidelines meet quality system requirements, as appropriate (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 9001 etc.) + Assist QCs in hosting customers and other quality related external party audits, in cooperation with commercial and other functions. + As delegated by QCs, ensure that product returns and non-conforming products are appropriately managed to prevent unintended use, including disposition. + May act as a backup for the department Quality Coordinators. + Support stability program. + Update standard operating procedures to improve quality consistency. + Other job duties as assigned. **Critical Success Factors:** This is a key role to support the execution of business, site, and plant quality strategies.
