Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description

The Quality Technician will join the engineering team, supporting engineers with non-routine engineering development activities and evaluating returned products from customers. The role demands expertise in inspection methods, the correct use of metrology and calibration, as well as supporting the inspection of incoming components, materials, in-process fabrication parts and assemblies, and final inspection before shipments.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the development of inspection plans for receiving, in-process, and final inspections.Lead and conduct inspections as necessary in support of quality lab operations and overall operational requirements.Provide training and guidance to inspector staff and operations personnel regarding the correct use and care of metrological instrumentation, storage, and maintenance.Inspect metrology for cleanliness, status of calibration, and general good operation.Guide and make recommendations regarding the sourcing of new metrology and methods for ongoing improvement of technology.Manage rejections of material directly with the supplier, including NC and CA reporting requirements as necessary.Oversee calibration.Essential SkillsExperience with PPAP documentation.Proficient in GD&T and reading/interpreting engineering drawings.Experience with measurement instruments such as CMMs (Mitutoyo) and/or calibration devices.Familiarity with ISO standards.First Article Inspection experience.Documentation and records control experience.Experience with Optical Comparator.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociates Degree in Engineering is nice to have.Experience with Optical Comparator is preferred.Work Environment

The position is based at the Kalamazoo facility, a satellite operation with 50-60 employees. The Quality Team consists of 2 Quality Engineers, 2 Quality Technicians, and Quality Inspectors. The role involves working in the quality lab, directly supporting the engineering team and receiving direction from the 2 Quality Engineers. Standard work hours range from 40-45 hours per week. The organization provides end-to-end contract manufacturing and assembly of medical devices, managing the entire process including supply chain, manufacturing, assembly, testing, labeling, packaging, and shipping. The work environment includes opportunities for development and leadership, alongside engineers who provide day-to-day direction.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
