Quality Technician
Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the integrity and high standards of all parts and components, from incoming supplies to outgoing shipments. This role demands meticulous inspection of parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Additionally, the position involves the creation of detailed reports and charts using Microsoft Excel to document findings and maintain quality standards.

Monday - Friday (must be able to work weekends for OT/make up days)

2nd shift - 2:30pm - 10:30pm

3rd Shift - 10:30pm - 6:30am

Responsibilities

Inspect manufactured and purchased parts, tools, and completed components using Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 gauges.Utilize established company quality control procedures, including statistical process control (SPC).Perform gauge capability studies on equipment during Receiving Inspection (RI).Operate CMM for critical dimensions and conduct layouts using various layout gauges.Use MS Excel and MS Word for data collection and analysis.Advise area supervision of any deviations from established criteria.Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes, measuring production, and documenting evidence.Maintain and improve product quality through audits, investigating customer complaints, and collaborating on new product and engineering designs.Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Complete machine qualifications, process capability studies, and R&R studies.Assist with maintaining incoming documentation from suppliers.Observe all safety and health regulations and promote safety throughout the organization.Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, superiors, and supervisors.Follow housekeeping procedures to maintain a neat and orderly work area, adhering to 5S principles.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE 2-5 years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and various gauges.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.Understanding of metric systems for measurements, including fractions and decimals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in quality assurance and inspection.Mechanical inclination and troubleshooting skills.Familiarity with machine operation and production processes.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Safety is a top priority. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tallahassee, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
