Quality Technician
Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Quality function and coordinating the operation of the Quality System. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor, test, and inspect all processes involved in the production of our product to ensure that quality standards are met by the facility.

Responsibilities

Monitor the plant’s quality system and processes.Ensure product meets customer quality specifications.Perform inspections using a variety of inspection tools and fixtures such as Calipers, Micrometers, Depth Gauges, and Scales.Document and report test results, and utilize processes to document non-conformances found during inspection.Control non-conforming product by identifying and segregation, such as placing suspect material on hold for additional review.Visually inspect products and verify specified dimensions of product or material.Support all manufacturing operations daily to ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.Verify product quality within specified parameters, including weight, texture, and other physical properties.Ensure the quality of purchased goods as well as finished goods.Verify and accurately document inspections, checks, and tests.Maintain inspection checklists over processes and protocols.Identify problems and issues regarding product quality and make recommendations to higher authorities.Perform quality analysis on records and previous documentation.Use communication skills to liaise within the quality department and manufacturing staff.Work overtime and rotating shift work schedule if required.Participate with manufacturing in root cause and corrective action.Participate in Corrective Action Teams (CATs) as required.Conduct audits of the process and facility as directed.

Essential Skills

Five years of experience working in a quality field.Formal training in statistical process control and quality control management is desired.Experience with metal or plastic packaging.Ability to pass the Farnsworth Munsel 100 Hue Test.Proficiency in using and reading basic measuring equipment.Capability to read and comprehend work order and layout specifications.Knowledge of coating materials.High school diploma, GED equivalency, or vocational certificate required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must be able to work with materials weighing up to approximately 60 lbs.Position requires standing most of the time.

Work Environment

Work in a well-lit and clean facility with some climate-controlled departments. The typical shift is from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rockford, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53144.00 - $53144.00/yr.

• Base rate increases at 3, 6, 9, 12 and 18 months.
• Bonus Potential: No
• Vacation: 2 weeks
• Health, Safe & Personal PTO: 40 Hours
• Paid Holidays: 12 in 2025
