**Job Title: Quality Technician**
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to ensure adherence to and implementation of company safety and work rules. The role involves performing various inspection operations including first piece, final, receiving QC, in-process, and first article inspections. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating nonconformance documentation when discrepancies are detected and ensuring the removal of discrepant material from production areas. Additionally, you will maintain and support safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics, and ensure all quality requirements are followed.
Responsibilities
+ Perform first piece, final, receiving QC, in-process, and first article inspections.
+ Operate manual CMM equipment or demonstrate the willingness and skill to learn.
+ Create nonconformance documentation and remove discrepant materials from production areas.
+ Maintain and support SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) metrics.
+ Complete first article inspection reports in accordance with the AS9100 standard.
+ Maintain all inspection data and ensure all paperwork is correctly filed.
+ Coordinate with the Quality team to ensure efficient workflow.
+ Escalate production and assembly quality issues immediately.
+ Set up and adjust gauges using required equipment or masters per specification requirements, including periodic verifications.
+ Provide leadership, technical support, and guidance on all inspection-related topics.
+ Read and interpret technical part drawings.
+ Hold tolerances of .001 or .0001 of an inch.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of quality inspection experience in a tight tolerance environment, preferably aerospace.
+ Proficiency in utilizing micrometers, calipers, and gauges for inspections.
+ Experience in CMM operation and using optical comparators.
+ Ability to read blueprints.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ ASQ Certification is a plus.
+ Experience in precision measuring and quality assurance.

Work Environment
You will work primarily in a precision machine shop's quality lab, which is clean and temperature-controlled. The position is first shift, from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The company specializes in manufacturing high-quality, custom precision spur and helical gearing and gearboxes for various industrial markets. This role offers the opportunity to work with in-house heat treating, gear cutting, and gear grinding capabilities. ISO-certified build-to-print manufacturer provides high-quality gearing and specialized gearboxes. The dress code is typical of a precision machine shop environment.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $74880.00/yr.
