**Job Title: Quality Technician**
**Job Description**
As a Quality Technician, you will use test equipment to assess the thickness, quality, and color of fabricated metal after it has been processed. Your keen attention to detail will be essential in documenting and identifying errors in product fabrication. You will utilize computer skills to interpret blueprints and ensure parts meet customer specifications. Collaboration with the Quality Manager, CNC operators, and other management personnel will be crucial in identifying and resolving quality issues.
**Responsibilities**
+ Use test equipment to evaluate fabricated metal for thickness, quality, and color.
+ Document and record findings with a strong attention to detail.
+ Interpret blueprints to ensure parts match customer orders.
+ Collaborate with the Quality Manager and CNC operators to identify quality errors.
+ Perform visual inspections and quality checks on products.
+ Handle inventory control and assist in material handling or cleaning as needed.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in using gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
+ Experience in quality assurance and quality control, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections.
+ Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with a tape measure.
+ Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
+ 2-3 years of experience in quality inspection/control and sheet metal fabrication.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with GMP practices.
+ Ability to work in a team environment with large piece assembly.
+ Positive attitude and flexibility in taking on varied tasks.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a non-climate controlled facility with loud machinery, becoming busier as production ramps up in the summer and fall. Products are stored both inside and outside, and exposure to outdoor conditions may be required for material handling tasks. The facility operates on a team-based approach, handling large pieces of glass, sheet metal, and steel frames. The day shift runs from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with potential for overtime. The second shift is from 4 pm to 12 am, with one opening per shift.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, VA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
