Quality Technician
**Job Title: Quality Technician** **Job Description** The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality for our packaging machinery. This position involves inspecting incoming outsourced products, in-process assemblies, machining operations, and final inspections. The Quality Technician will utilize various measurement tools, read blueprints, understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and work within our ERP system to create 'go, no go' reports. **Responsibilities** + Accurately interpret and analyze engineering blueprints and technical drawings. + Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to ensure parts meet specified tolerances. + Utilize a variety of measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, surface roughness testers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and Faro Arm or similar tools. + Efficiently work within the company's ERP system to track and document quality inspections and reports. + Conduct thorough inspections of incoming outsourced products from vendors, in-process assemblies during manufacturing, machining operations, and final product inspections before shipment. + Create detailed 'go, no go' reports based on inspection results and communicate findings to relevant departments. + Ensure all products meet high standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations. **Essential Skills** + 5 or more years of experience in a Quality Technician role, preferably in packaging or machine shop environments. + Proficiency in reading blueprints and GD&T. + Experience with various measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in plastics or similar environments is advantageous. + Attendance at a trade school is preferred but not required. **Why Work Here?** Our organization provides a thriving environment where employees can grow both personally and professionally. The facility, established in February 2021, is brand new and features state-of-the-art amenities, with all departments under one roof. The Quality team consists of three employees who work both in a designated cage area and in production as needed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wood Dale, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
