Quality Technician - 2nd Shift
**Quality Technician - 2nd Shift - $19.75/hr** **Job Description** As a Quality Technician, you will perform technical tasks related to quality control and assurance operations. This role involves inspecting and testing products, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. You will spend approximately four hours a day inspecting under a microscope and will be trained to perform dimensional and mechanical inspections. **Responsibilities** + Perform complex functional tests and inspections following established procedures and work instructions. + Read and interpret specifications and blueprints/mechanical drawings, and create or revise procedures as needed. + Compile quality data using appropriate tools, including SPC charting methodology. + Evaluate quality issues identified by test and inspection results and report them appropriately. + Review and disposition product defects identified through testing and inspection processes. + Ensure documentation is complete and complies with specifications. + Solve routine problems with standard solutions. + Maintain test machines and fixtures. + Process shipping documentation and prepare necessary documents for shipment. **Essential Skills** + At least 2 years’ experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment or a high school diploma or equivalent. + Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints. + Proficiency in using a micrometer, caliper, depth gauge, and other measuring tools. + Competence in using computers, including word-processing and spreadsheet programs. + Strong organizational skills to collect and transform data into meaningful information. + Basic arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculation skills. + Effective communication skills at all levels. + Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + AA or AS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent technical knowledge gained through on-the-job training and experience. + Comfortable with microscope inspection for extended periods. + Willingness to wear cleanroom apparel. + Proactive and enthusiastic attitude. + Willingness to learn and contribute. + Ability to perform visual inspections and meet the physical requirements of the job. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic team where you can contribute to high-quality production in a supportive and growth-oriented environment. The ability to move about the plant and inspect under a microscope for long periods is essential. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
