Quality Specialist - Microbiology

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Specialist in Microbiology to join our team. This role involves performing daily microbiological testing and ensuring quality control of microbiological supplies. You will be working in a sterile lab environment and collaborating closely with the manufacturing team to perform environmental monitoring. Responsibilities

Conduct daily microbiological testing, including work under a sterile hood, spread plate techniques, enrichments, sub-cultures, gram staining, coagulation tests, AI20E, fungal identification, and microscope work.Perform quality control of microbiological supplies and growth promotion testing.Conduct water testing and complete paperwork in SAP and by hand following SOPs and GMPs.Perform environmental monitoring and swabbing in the manufacturing areas at scheduled times.Coordinate the shipping of samples for outsourced testing to third-party labs.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in microbiology and aseptic techniques.Strong understanding of cleaning and disinfection procedures.Detailed documentation and reporting skills.Experience with gram staining, spread plate techniques, and membrane filtration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS Degree in Biology required, Master’s degree preferred.Experience in quality control, GMP, laboratory settings, and environmental monitoring is a plus.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
