Quality Specialist
**Job Title: Quality Specialist** Job Description In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of quality-related tasks, including material quality inspections, non-conforming material follow-up, final unit inspections, critical to quality inspections, and in-process inspections. You will carry out SOP audits, equipment qualification, and apply various problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions. Effective communication with the production team and multiple departments is essential. Responsibilities + Conduct material quality inspections and follow up on non-conforming materials using the SCAR process. + Perform final unit, critical to quality, and in-process inspections. + Execute SOP audits and equipment qualifications. + Utilize problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions. + Communicate inspection results through standardized metrics. + Engage in daily communication with the production team on CPRs and 100% inspections. + Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Production, Shipping, and Inside Sales. + Complete other duties within the quality system as assigned by the QA manager. Essential Skills + Material quality inspections + Non-conforming material follow-up + Final unit inspections + Critical to Quality inspections + In process inspections + SOP audits + Equipment qualification + Effective communication with multiple functions + High attention to detail + Adaptability in a physically demanding environment Additional Skills & Qualifications + Comfortable lifting 50lbs + Use of various measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, protractor, feeler gauge) + Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Avante + Good oral and written communication skills + Strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple functions in a team environment + Interpret product prints for dimensions and tolerances + Ability to work with minimal direct supervision; must be a self-starter + Ability to manage your own schedule with multiple priorities + Able to perform arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; working with fractions, decimals, and percentages + Good vision and color acuity + High school degree or GED preferred + Minimum 1 year of experience preferred Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a fully on-site position located in West Des Moines, Iowa. You will work within a manufacturing environment across three facilities in WDM and one in Norwalk. The facilities are not temperature-controlled and can become hot, especially during busy seasons. Expect to be part of a team of 10-15 people within a larger group of approximately 100 employees per facility. The current schedule operates from 32-40 hours a week, with potential 50-hour work weeks during the busy season, including working two Saturdays a month. The dress code requires work-appropriate shirts, jeans or shorts, and steel-toe shoes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
