SUMMARY
The Quality Planner is responsible for assisting the Quality Planning Manager in maintaining the quality system and monitors and advises on compliance with operating procedures, which includes the Quality Manual. The Quality Planner is also responsible for posting statistics regarding company performance against set parameters. The job function covers all aspects of the company’s operation and requires the ability to assimilate and analyze information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
+ Ensure that all HPSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met.
· Assist in the implementation of a functioning of QMS as outlined by ISO 9001-2015.
· Assist in monitoring the function of the Quality Improvement System and suggestion scheme, and Document Control System.
· Perform internal audits for the Yard’s operations; the results evaluated and findings addressed.
· Assist in supplier evaluation when expertise in quality system analysis is needed.
· Prepare QMS reports for review by Manager and Director.
· Assist in the development and implementation of the quality-training program in cooperation with the Yard’s training department.
· Assist the Quality Planning Manager with the general operations of the Quality Department, including budgeting, manpower planning, and overall departmental management.
· Manage any Quality Management System deficiencies unresolved by other departments.
· Assessing both suppliers and company’s product specifications and customer requirements.
· Working closely with purchasing staff in ensuring quality requirements from external suppliers.
· Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated, and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.
· Writing technical reports.
· Bringing together different disciplines and driving the group to formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures.
· Act as contact with customers’ auditors; responsible for monitoring execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers’ specifications.
· Stand-in for the Quality Planning Manager as needed.
· Maintain the HPSI Measuring and Monitoring Device database.
· Support other departments as needed in utilization of the Document Control System.
· Maintain daily schedule of inspections.
· Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Five (5) or more years of experience in Quality Management/Control in shipyards/heavy industry or similar type project driven production environment.
· Familiar with ISO 9001-2015 requirements – experience as an internal auditor.
· The ability to research and analyze various different types of data information.
· The ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
· Ability to organize and prioritize work.
· Knowledge of statistics is preferred, coupled with good interpersonal skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Normal office duties with about half of the time working in the yard. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A range of motion sufficient to perform general lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, climbing, working at heights, extended walking or standing, etc. is required. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an on-site, full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.
