**Job Title: Quality Officer**
**Job Description**
As a Quality Officer, you will be responsible for creating drawing files per customer specifications and importing them into nesting software. You will maintain department databases, ensuring they remain up-to-date and consistent. Additionally, you will review drawings and nesting models, making necessary adjustments to improve yields, throughput, and margins.
**Responsibilities**
+ Nest customer orders onto material to maximize material utilization and reduce scrap.
+ Verify allocations of material to correct master, applying aged inventory or drops first.
+ Track monthly laser/plasma/oxy-fuel scrap rates.
+ Manage all nest packages to minimize scrap and maximize efficiencies.
+ Collaborate closely with operators, maintenance, and quality teams to enhance cutting performance.
+ Work with sales to develop quotes using programming methods.
+ Implement and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
+ Communicate effectively through written and verbal communication.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned by a supervisor or management.
+ Serve as a key member of the plate processing team.
+ Implement and troubleshoot Pronest software, including beveling and true hole features.
+ Utilize the laser nesting program effectively.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in nesting and regulatory procedures.
+ Strong computer skills.
+ Knowledge of Mill Standard and specifications for metals and measuring tools.
+ Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ISO standards.
+ Ability to use Microsoft Office applications daily.
+ Problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend optimal solutions.
+ Mathematical proficiency with basic analytics and statistics.
+ Blueprint reading skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Keeping current on quality issues by attending seminars or workshops.
+ Understanding of general shop procedures and rules, including safety and health standards.
+ Ability to be a team player.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is manufacturing-based, which can get dirty and hot during the summer. Large doors are kept open to maintain a cool atmosphere, and there is heating available in the winter. The environment is spacious and open, though working conditions may include loud noise, vibratory tools, repetitive motions, airborne particles such as metal dust and chips, and exposure to chemicals like coolants and oil. Physical requirements include continual standing, walking, lifting, twisting, with periodic bending, climbing, stooping, crawling, and crouching. The position is for the 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, from 3pm-11pm.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Canada, Minnesota.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
